Amara River Cruise

The Amara River Cruise I & II are small, personal and charming traditional-style Myanmar riverboats cruising on the Ayeyarwaddy (Irrawaddy) and Chindwin rivers in the Northern Myanmar.  Both cruise-boats are crafted entirely of teak wood.  Amara Cruise I was built in 2003 and Amara Cruise II in 2008 by local craftsmen.

Amara I is 30 meters / 100 feet and Amara II 35 meters long with a shallow draft of 1 meter / 3 feet.   The shallow drafts make it possible to negotiate the shallow river waters and go as far north as Bhamo and Tamanthi.

Amara I has total of seven cabins, whereas the new Amara II has 5 cabins. All  cabins are fitted with modern comforts, including en suite bathrooms and hot and cold showers  The communal space of the cruisers includes canopied open-air dining area, deck bar, a sun deck and a bad weather dining- room below deck.  Electricity is provided 24 hours a day. For safety all cabins have smoke detectors, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and life jackets. There is also a dinghy on board for emergency evacuation.

You will be taken care of by our friendly and attentive Myanmar crew throughout the cruise. Sit back, relax and enjoy a journey of a lifetime off the beaten trails in style and comfort.
